The Goodbye

Experience in the blog.

I liked using the blog. I think it's a great idea and I suggest to keep using it. I enjoyed writting my opinions and thoughts. It is a good way to practice vocabulary and grammar.
A suggestion could be that in the future comment more often in other classmate's blogs.

I had a happy time with the class. Teacher you made more interesting the english class and funnier.

Review of painting

I think this painting has the perfect colours, its not that colorful or creative but it brings you joy. It´s so bright and attractive to the sight. The pink is so lovely and pleasant. It reminds me of spring cause the green leaves fall and grow the fresh pink leaves. 

This painting is so peaceful, it brings peace just by watching it.

Advice for reducing consumption - Page 87

-Save your money. Have a piggy bank or have an account to save your money.
-Have a control in your money. do a list of the things you buy and and think if you´re not wasting your money. Also if it´s essential in your life.

The story of stuff

Summary

It´s a story of the "life cycle" of consumer products by Annie Leonard.
Basically the process is :

 It purports to expose "the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues, and calls us together to create a more sustainable and just world."
Leonard's says, "you cannot run a linear system on a finite planet indefinitely" is supported throughout the video.
Extraction
- we are running out of resources - in the last decade, 1/3 of the world's resource base has been consumed.
- many chemicals employed, most untested
- pollution - they emit more than 4 billion pounds of toxic chemicals a year.
The erosion of local environments and economies leaves people with no other economic option... but to work (and live) in toxic environments
Sell as quickly as possible, keep prices down
It's all about externalizing the cost - keep wages down, skimp on health insurance

Annie explained that only 1% of the products we buy are still in use six months after their sale in North America. This leaves the other 99% of our stuff that is declared as waste after six months. The amount of products that a person consumes has doubled over the past 50 years
Disposal
 In the U.S. the average person produces 4.5 pounds of waste each day. Our trash is either dumped in the ground or first burned and the remainder is dumped in the ground. Both of these create tons of pollution.

 Annie points to a new future and way of consumerism. Like  sustainability, green chemistry, and renewable energy.

Best technological advances

I have 2 favourite. The Virtual Reality  and the Augmented Reality, these two are very popular in videogames but they have more applications and advantages.
 AR brings elements of the virtual world, into our real world, thus enhancing the things we see, hear, and feel. Applications of augmented reality can be as simple as a text-notification or as complicated as an instruction on how to perform a life-threatening surgical procedure. They can highlight certain features, enhance understandings, and provide accessible and timely data. 
Virtual reality is the creation of a virtual environment presented to our senses in such a way that we experience it as if we were really there. 

Valentine's Day Tradition

South Korea

I made my research and I find it quite interesting the tradition in South Korea. I think is my favourite. 

They celebrate love on the 14th of every month not only on Februray. It includes May's Rose Day, June's Kiss Day, December's Hug Day, Diary Day (January), Rose Day (May), Silver Day (July), Green Day (August), Photo Day (September), Wine Day (October), Movie Day (November)and April's Black Day when singletons congregate to console themselves over jajangmyeon- are black noodles. The reason singles eat black noodles is that the black color represents their wounded heart.

On Valentine's Day in Korea women give chocolate to men as a sign of affection. Traditionally, men that receive these gifts will give a gift in return the following month on White Day. This has been changing in recent years, as retailers have begun targeting Men and Women on both days.

Our trained volunteer staff works to help reunite pet owners with their lost pets. We also conduct education for public on how to care for pets.
